Maintaining Your Home On The Market

Achieving the best price for your home is all about making sure every buyer possible has the opportunity to see your home before it sells. When your agent engages with a buyer the goal is to book an inspection for the buyer to view your home. We all know that life is busy, especially for a buyer that is potentially trying to view multiple properties in a short space of time. If your home is not available to view there’s a good chance that buyer will move forward with another home.

It’s safe to say that maintaining your home on the market is no easy feat, but here’s some pointers to help make life a little bit easier.

Keep The House Tidy:

This one seems really obvious, but it’s quite often the one thats overlooked. Getting into the habit of putting things away when your done with them will make it a lot quicker and easier to prepare for an inspection.

Close Doors to Unused Rooms:

If there are any areas of the house that you rarely use keep them clean and tidy by closing them off. This will ensure that they are ready at a moments notice to show to buyers.

Assume The House Will Be Shown Everyday:

Every day before you head off to work, do a quick run around to check everything is as it should be. Making your home available for inspections while you’re at work makes showing the house to buyers easy for your agent.

Keep An Eye On The Garden:

Keeping the garden tidy is super important as this will maintain your street appeal. So while your home is on the

market it may be necessary to mow your law every week and blow any leaves off the driveway etc.
