Should I Get a Pest & Building Inspection?

Purchasing a home is one of the biggest things that someone can do in their lives, therefore buyers need to be sure that the home they are buying does not come with any hidden surprises.

All solicitors & conveyancers will strongly recommend that any purchaser obtain a pest and building report for a property before that commit to buying it.

This can be obtained in 2 ways - they arrange an inspection themselves at their own cost or the vendor of the

property organises one and provides it to them.

The benefits as a seller to having a pest and building inspection conducted ahead of time are as follows:

* Any potential concerns or repairs needed can be rectified before going on the market.

* You make the process as quick & easy as possible for potential buyers.

* You will get an indication as to how many buyers are interested in your home if they have requested a report.

At The Agency we work closely with a company called ‘Before You Bid’. This company will arrange an independent

inspection by a licenced inspector at a reduced cost to you. Once the report is available, interested buyers can

purchase it for a small fee (this further confirms that they are interested in your home) once that buyer is the successful purchaser they will pay the remaining amount to have the report transferred into their name.

* Please note that terms and conditions apply when engaging the services of Before You Bid.
